Kitesurfing is a navigation sport in wich a traction kite is used and to wich you are connected by lines and a harness that enables you to glide on the water standing on a board. Kites go back a long time in chinese and indonesian civilizations.
Nevertheless, it was not until 1977 when Gijsbertus Panhuise patented a navigation system riding a surf board pulled by a kind of parachute, becoming the father of this sport.
Later, in 1996 and after 15 years of tests the Legaignoux Brothers officialy presented the first kitesurf that was similar to those you find on the market today.
In Indonesia kites are both a culture and an art, the designs are many and varied. That is where you find the kiteboard industry. It `s also a place to train and develop materials at low production costs. Industrial development in this area makes it virtually a pioneer in the development of kiteboarding.

Kitesurfing is the revolution of this decade and surely of the next as well in aquatic sports, because it `s growing in popularity thanks to the vast possibilities it offers on water as well as on land and snow.
Although this sport is still in its infancy, it keeps growing from 30 people practising it around the world in 1998 to some 200.000 who participate today.
Kitesurfing finds itself in permanent evolution, transforming into a safer sport due to the latest advances in safety equipment from the design of the kites to their own safety systems.
The navigation in kitesurfing has also evolved toward different styles, such as the wake style, wave riding, freestyle, jumping,etc...
