TARIFA
Tarifa is a locality in the province of Cadiz, in the region of Andalucia in Spain. It has almost 20.000 inhabitants in an area of 419 square kilometers with a population density of 41.0 density of inhab/km. Its geographic coordinates are 36º 01`N, 5º36`. The lower part of tarifa is at an altitude of 7 above sea level and is located 101 kilometers from the capital of the province of Cadiz.

The municipality of Tarifa is located at the southern most point of the province of Cadiz occupying the western part of the Gibraltar area, and is at the furthest point south on the Iberian Peninsula and of the European continent. The cape of Tarifa point also serves as a diving line between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean whose waters cross each other in front of Tarifa located at the narrowest point in the Straights of Gibraltar and 14 kilometers from the Morroccan coasts.
This make Tarifa the European town that is nearest the African continent, as a municipality Tarifa occupies an area of 414,56 square kilometers which makes it the most extensive part of the Gibraltar area, taking up 27,4 % of it. Tarifa Borders to the east on the municipality of Algeciras and to the north with Medina Sidonia, and to the northwest with Vejer de la Frontera, the border to the west, south and southeast are physical and not administrative areas. To the west there is the atlantic ocean and in the south and southeast the mediterranean. Tarifa is the meca of watersports such as kitesurfing and windsurfing presenting an unmatched calidescope of colours on its beaches.
In Tarifa, a part from several kite surfing schools, you can find more than fifty caves and shelters with rock art belonging to the group known as"southern art". Of all of these deposits the cave of the moors stands out for its engravings of horses dating back 20.000 years.
