KITESURF -BOARDS ::
KITESURF - BOARDS
Different types and sizes of boards exist. They should be chosen according to your level as well as the wind force and your weight.
 A larger board and with more volume allows you to navigate in calm winds since the bouyancy of the board helps navigation without much wind power.
In strong winds you can navigate with a smaller board because the bouyancy is not necessary as their is suficient power in the kite. The most frequently used types are the twin-tip or bidirectional which are boards that can navigate in both directions due to their symetry and this allows you to make the turns without moving your feet out of the footstraps. Learn kitesurfing needs a bigger board than normal sailing, because bigger the board is smaller the kite that you need.
 The size of the boards usually varies between 120 and 140 or 150 cms in length. Also used, but less often, the directional or surf boards. These can require you to change your feet in the footstrap and need a more technical navigation, but it`s a lot of fun. The size of these boards can vary between 140 and 180, or even 190 cms. Kitesurfing schools normally use the bigger boards that you can find on the market.
